The Zone ship is a ship featured in Wipeout Pure. It's mainly used in the Zone events of the game, but can be used in regular races after acquiring Gold Medal on all four Zone tracks.

The Zone ship excels in almost every area.

Overview

Designed around the neo-tronic craft used in Zone mode, this craft is kitted out to fly on the real AG circuits. It's really fast and really agile, with a very good thrust. It works perfectly on all circuits so long as you can handle the speed it can put out. The biggest flaw of this craft, however, is that it has barely any shielding at all. Even a rocket or a mine can inflict a significant amount of damage to this craft, and a plasma bolt can literally cripple it. You won't be launching many of your own weapons, instead absorbing everything to try and stay alive. But once you break away from the pack, there won't be many that can keep up with you.

Despite all its flairs, you really shouldn't get too used to this craft. In all honesty, it requires little skill to use, and you won't improve as a racer if you're using this ship as a beginner. Because of this, the Zone craft is best for veteran pilots who have gotten used to every other craft available. The reason for this is that its shields make it extremely vulnerable to elimination, especially in multiplayer races.

Trivia

• This ship never appears as an AI opponent, even after unlocked.
• It is also the only ship in the game that has two stats at maximum, namely speed and handling.
• This and the MediEvil ship are the only ships in the game to feature a 1/5 rating in a particular stat.
  • In this case, it is related to their shielding.
• Because of its plain white livery, the ship is not shown to sponsor any privateer team (as with the other promotional ships). It may also be likely that the ship is property of the Belmondo Foundation.
  • The livery used in actual Zone mode features light blue accents.
  • A concept art image in the game's art gallery depicts this ship with a silver body and a blue pattern.
