Wipeout Central

Wip3out - The Music is the soundtrack album of the video game of the same name, both of which was released in 1999. The album features many forms of electronic music produced by British and European artists, directed by Sasha and mixed by Glow Records.

Album[]

Unlike other soundtrack albums in the series, wip3out - The Music was a promotional item instead of a standard commercial album - it was a free bonus included in Issue 11 of the 1999 Arcade Magazine, only available in the UK. It was also presented as a DJ set, with every song mixed into one continuous track. The mixing was done by the Liverpool based collective Glow Records, who contributed two of their own tracks under the names Hong Kong Trash and Desert to the album (neither of which appear in game).

A later revision was issued, which removed "Under The Influence" from the tracklist for possible copyright reasons. This revision came with audio mastering issues in the form of clicks and pops.[1] The catalog number for the first release is ARC/11/10/99 while the revision's number was ARC/11B/10/99.[2]

"Control" by MKL is slightly different on this release, featuring a longer drum break section.
