Platinum Rush is a racetrack located in a nature reserve of Greenland. It made its only appearence in Wipeout Pulse. It is also one of the five locations appearing in Wipeout Merge.

Description[]

Platinum Rush is a lot similar to Wipeout 3's P-Mar Project – it doesn't seem so difficult at a first glance, but it will punish you hard later on. There are many 90-degree corners and a straight section with a jump, where the road narrows briefly before kicking you into a long hairpin and a final corner before the finish line.

The Black Run has no notable differences compared to the White Run, but the track is run anti-clockwise. This means that the same tough section of the track is already at the beginning of the lap. Travelling this very misleading circuit on a faster ship with heavy handling can be a real challenge. Therefore, some knowledge of airbrakes will be needed here.

Wipeout Pulse[]

White Run[]

The parks of Greenland were finally thawed out and preserved forever by a committee of philanthropists with utopian ambitions. This custom built 4.6 kilometre track provides a whirlwind tour through the ice-blue architecture and petrified trees of Platinum Rush.

Black Run[]

The flawless curves of Platinum Rush mimic their surroundings, with sections of the 4.6k track flowing in step with the tree line, then turning to chase the overpass and monorail links to the eugenics centre.

Wipeout Merge[]

The parks of Greenland were finally thawed out and preserved forever by a committee of philanthropists with utopian ambitions. This custom-built 4.6 kilometre track provides a whirlwind tour through the ice-blue architecture and petrified trees of Platinum Rush.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first racetrack to be set in Greenland since the infamous Silverstream track in Wipeout.
  • The track description mentioning a eugenics centre may likely hint toward dystopian themes of transhumanism and cybernetic augmentation in the Wipeout universe.
