Chenghou Project is a race track located on the man-made Hawaiian island of Makana. It was first introduced in Wipeout Pure, and reappeared in Wipeout HD.

Chenghou Project is Makana's Chinatown, located in the heart of Vineta's financial district. This is quite a technical track and not for the faint of heart. Peculiarities on this track include the Hello Lucki Bank hairpin, a inverse-cambered spiral and culminates in a long jump into the tunnelled entry into the final chicane.

Hello Lucki Bank HairpinEdit

Apart from the 180° hairpin at The Amphiseum, this is the tightest hairpin seen in the FX era. Coming over the wide right corner under the Huangyuan Xpressway, you're given the choice to slow down and clear it cleanly or slam on your left air break and slide across. Either way, it's a good show for those watching on the neighbouring Chenghou-Modesto Mono.

Chenghou Twin StraightEdit

Despite the name, it is not two straights running parallel, rather a set of two consecutive jumps. However, it's a good place to get a burst of speed and a quick shot before the infamous inverse-banked spiral.

Piranha BowlEdit

For a corner like this, it's fitting it sports Piranha animated posters. The inverse-bank doesn't do a lot of good to your ship's performance as it forces you to the outside of the track. A strong inside approach is needed for this one. (NOTE: There is no bank on the reverse version)

Stateap DropEdit

This drop makes or breaks a race. Coming out of R4Robot Bend, there is a speed pad on the inside of the next corner, so an inside line is important. If you hit this pad (and perform a barrel roll during the drop) you could get a good position leading into the final chicane and the finish, where overtaking is near nil.

  • The cat statue on the roof of the Hello Lucki Bank building bears a strong resemblance to the cat statue in Odessa Keys (Wipeout 2097).
