Basilico is a racetrack located in an urban settlement in Nova Scotia that has been abandoned following a viral outbreak. It made its only appearence in Wipeout Pulse.
Description[]
Basilico is the shortest track in the game set in a ghost town in Canada and offers one of the bleakest settings yet, but it has a handful of tricks in its sleeve, such as a long and dangerous mag-strip section after the start of the track and a fast chicane sequence inside a slightly dark tunnel. It is one of the few tracks in Wipeout Pulse with different layouts for the White and Black Runs. The Black Run, in particular, has a modified upper part that snakes through an abandoned factory, resulting in a longer track length compared to the White Run.
In a nutshell, Basilico can be quite a tricky racetrack if you're not careful.
Wipeout Pulse[]
White Run[]
In Basilico, the lights are on but nobody's home. 3.9 kilometres of granite-obsidian glide through this termite nest of a city while the race keeps the plague-spotters and abandoned cargo drones compliant.
Black Run[]
This gunmetal grey city was fully excavated after the outbreak of Nova Scotia, leaving only the neon signs and robotic sentries to watch carefully over the crowd-avatars and magnetic twists of Basilico's 4.2 kilometre circuit.

Trivia[]
- Basilico being the epicentre of a viral outbreak is a reference to and foreshadows the outbreak and global pandemic of COVID-19 affecting sporting events, including motorsport.
- Evidence of this is that the spectators are replaced with digital crowd avatars, suggesting that residents within the track's area and surroundings are forced to quarantine indoors. As a result, it is likely that the race is held behind closed doors.
- Assuming that the outbreak is still ongoing in the track's lore, hosting a race here may be detrimental to the pilots, staff and engineers' health and safety, as they would have to travel to the next venue, potentially causing a pandemic.
- Towards the final straight on the track, murals of FX300 ship models can be seen.
